From 16th July 2020, Ministry of Trade, Industries & Tourism is officially renamed as Ministry of Economic Affairs. This change will be effective in Suriname ESW (SESW) system by 24th Oct 2020. From 24th Oct 2020, while requesting for H03 Licenses in SESW, Traders/Declarants to choose ministry as Ministry of Economic Affairs.

On December 16th, 2019, we have successfully onboarded 4 new agencies/ departments: Ministry of Agriculture- Plant Protection, Foundation for Forest Management and Production Control (SBB), Foreign Exchange Commission, General Economic Department of MTI&T. From 31st October to 2nd November 2019 and 11th December to 15th December 2019; SESW Info & Training sessions were held in the Nickerie district with the aim of introducing the SESW System to the traders, customs brokers and government agencies. These sessions had been successful, and this was noticeable in the enthusiasm of the participants from Nickerie. In the future, the staff of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation in Nickerie will be trained in Paramaribo with 'Training of Trainers' sessions, with the intention that they can guide and assist the Nickerian trading community as necessary in SESW.
The online submission and processing of the documents required for the import, export and transit of goods is possible now! With the launch of the Suriname Electronic Single Window (SESW) on 27th September 2019, in an event held at the Banquet Hall of Hotel Torarica, traders & agents can now submit their applications digitally via the website "www.sesw.sr" from any computer / laptop with internet connection at any desired location. This system will save time and costs and also contribute to a transparent and efficient processing of the required documents. With this system, the traders and agents can track the status of requested documents online. The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation (EOTI) has signed agreements (MOUs) with various ministries and agencies/departments, which process and issue Licenses, Permits, Certificates and Other Documents (LPCOs)for import, export and transit operations. All these ministries and agencies/departments will be digitally connected in the SESW. Minister emphasized that this is the first milestone of Suriname Electronic Single Window project and also that with the signing of the MOUs and the launch of the platform online, the project is not done yet. Following on, second phase is initiated immediately. This phase includes the integration between the SESW and the Customs system, and facilitation of online payment. The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation aims to achieve phase 2 objectives of the SESW System by 2020.
On Friday, May 10, 2019, the joint investment agreement for Suriname ESW was signed by Minister and Director of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation and Bala Nair, Senior vice president of the Singaporean company Crimsonlogic.
